Team India’s first match of 2020 ends without a ball being bowled

Team India’s first game of the year came to a disappointing end after it was abandoned without a ball being bowled in Guwahati on Sunday. Unseasonal rain and a wet pitch were the reasons the umpires called off the game. Team India is currently playing a 3-match T20 series against Sri Lanka and the next game is in Indore on Tuesday.

Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan announces retirement

After playing 29 Tests, 120 ODIs and 29 T20 international games for India, cricketer Irfan Pathan has announced his retirement. The left-arm fast bowler last played for India almost 7 years ago and announced his retirement on Sunday. Pathan has a total of 301 international wickets to his credit.

Australia thrash New Zealand to win Test series

David Warner smashed a hundred and Nathan Lyon picked up 10 wickets in the match as Australia thrashed New Zealand by 279 runs to win the 3rd and final Test match in Sydney. Courtesy the win, the Aussies also win the series 3-0 and Marnus Labuschagne was awarded the player of the series title.

As Australia suffers from bushfires, many sports stars are trying to help the victims. Former cricketer Shane Warne has put up his iconic baggy green cap for auction in a bid to raise money for the victims. The baggy green caps are awarded by Cricket Australia to every cricketer before their Test debut and the players wear it with a lot of pride.

Balotelli slams Italian football fans for racist chants

Italian footballer Mario Balotelli has slammed the fans of football club Lazio for racist chants. Balotelli was playing for his side Brescia and the game against Lazio in Series A on Sunday was stopped as announcements were made to warn the fans for their racist behaviour. Racism in Italian football is at an all-time high as many clubs are facing the unfortunate behaviour from the fans.
